October 20, 2023 DEVIL'S HOPYARD STATE PARK ELOPEMENT IN EAST HADDAM, CT | FELICIA & DARíO
Happily-ever-after starts with this fall elopement, because it looks straight out of a fairytale. But that should be no surprise because the beautiful bride is behind the color palate and design. From the rich color scheme and the luxe fall colored accents to the covered-bridge inspired ceremony and romantic florals, everything about this day is pure perfection and simply minimalism as it's best!
The elopement took place at Devil's Hopyard State Park in East Haddam, CT, planned by a few of Felicia's and Darío‘s family and friends. The minute I laid eyes on the bride's simplistic gown and the groom's burgundy velvet jacket, combined with all the natural elements around them, I fell instantly in love with the idea of creating a flower crown for the bride and a fresh floral lapel for the groom's suit.
OK. In all seriousness, puhh-leasee let me pin a floral lapel on every suit-wearing newlywed I work with! I mean, this elopement didn't need much for these two to say 'I Do' except for some exceptional floral pieces which REALLY stood out!👌 Last but not least, I must give a shoutout to Ashley Kroupa @ Wild Roots Photography who came out last minute, trudged in the rain, and worked her magic behind the lens to make Felicia and Darío's elopement a day to remember!
THE PROPOSAL STORY
"Long story short.
"My step-sons asked me to be their stepmother and Darío asked me to be his wife officially and I said, YES! ❤️"
- Felicia, Bride
INSPIRATION BEHIND FELICIA & DARíO’S WEDDING DAY
"I will officially have two step-sons (ages 13 and 8) who will be walking me through the covered bridge. I'm wearing a simple white dress and I love orange, ivory, and burgundy colored flowers. Darío's suit jacket is burgundy velvet. I love the way the color burgundy and burnt orange go together. It’s so pretty! We really wanted a casual fall wedding because fall is our favorite time of year!" - Felicia, Bride
specialty flowers and fillers that were utilized in these elopement arrangements were ornamental corn, ornamental peppers, ornamental pumpkins, spider mums, carnations, orange spray roses, double faced tulips, grasses, weigela leaf, white pumpkins, green pumpkins, gourds, millet, japanese cherry red robin, crocosmia pods, pom poms, mums, peach hydrangea, pin-cushion protea, dianthus, burgundy dahlia, white lisianthus, spider grevillea, berzelia plant, amaranthus, hypericum berries, and ranunculus (cuz what's a wedding without them?)
I hope you enjoyed this elopement at Devil's Hoyard State Park in East Haddam, CT. Do you know Felicia and Darío? Show the newlyweds some love, by giving this post a 'Heart' in the section below!
